The Strange Case of the Alchemist?s Daughter

Mary Jekyll was just a young girl when her father died, but she was old enough to remember Mr. Hyde, his terrifying associate who fled the country after being accused of murder. After her mother?s death, Mary is surprised to learn that Mrs. Jekyll had been regularly paying for Hyde?s care and keep. Eager to secure her financial future by collecting a reward, Mary begins to investigate, intending to find Hyde and turn him in to the police. She turns to Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson for help, and soon becomes embroiled in one of their cases . . . a case that seems to be inextricably linked to her own past. For it seems that Mary?s father was a member of a secret society of scientists, a group that is somehow involved in a bizarre series of murders. As Mary explores the seamier side of London in search of answers, she encounters an odd collection of young women whose fathers were also members of the society?women who all have a stake in solving the mystery.
